The history of attar and fragrances in India is thousands of years old, and is historically noted in the "granthas", mythology and literature. The history of Rose Attar in India, is said to originate from the 16th century. Nur Jahan (Noor Jahan) the Mughal Queen and wife of Mughal Emperor Jehangir created a unique blend and original rose attar. It is said that Nur Jahan created a custom Rose Attar which constituted 50 rose flower varieties combined with five sandal wood oils.

"There is no other sweet and pleasant perfume than the one made from roses"....a pure rose is designated as the "queen of flowers" for centuries..."

While the Rose Attar has a prominent place in perfumery and aromatherapy, the Rose Oil has a versatile use in the making of candles, cosmetics, perfumes, soaps, fragrance fresheners and aromatherapy products. The Rose Oil is known for its properties and is considered to be refreshing and soothing.
